An exhibition titled "Russian Light Industry" has opened at the State Duma. Leaders of parliamentary factions and members of parliament toured the display, which featured finished products manufactured by Russian companies, including field uniforms for military personnel and special forces, firefighting protective clothing, uniforms for the National Guard, and other textile and apparel products.
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin stressed that the development of the light industry sector is directly linked to the country's security.
"Everything related to the footwear and clothing of our soldiers and officers must be 100% domestically produced," Volodin said.
He also noted that the Russian light industry has mastered "the most advanced technologies."
Following the exhibition tour, Volodin and the members of parliament thanked representatives of the light industry for their contribution and ongoing work.
