The company's history dates back to 1907, when the renowned Belgian-Dutch trading company "S. Esders and K. Scheifels", a global supplier of ready-made women's and men's clothing, opened the first department store in the Russian Empire. Among the store's customers were members of the imperial family, including Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, the wife of Nicholas II.
